Sebelum berlepas ke New Delhi, India, saya ambil kesempatan santuni mangsa kebakaran yang melibatkan tiga buah kampung di Numbak, Kota Kinabalu. Hati saya amat tersentuh tatkala dimaklumkan tragedi ini turut meragut nyawa tiga orang kanak-kanak berusia antara 4 hingga 8 tahun. Kehilangan anak-anak kecil dalam musibah sebegini tentunya meninggalkan luka yang amat dalam, bukan sahaja buat keluarga, malah seluruh komuniti yang turut berkongsi kedukaan ini.
