Today in Ivano-Frankivsk, I met with participants in the “Will to Live” sports competition. Among them are warriors, veterans, and people with disabilities who did not give up and are recovering and regaining their strength through sports. They are competing in eight sports. I spoke with the athletes and signed the battle flags of their brigades. Thank you for such a good meeting. I am grateful to everyone who is developing this area of physical and psychological rehabilitation, involving the veteran community in it, and creating conditions in which our defenders can return to an active life.

I began my trip to the Ivano-Frankivsk region by honoring the memory of Ukraine’s fallen defenders. Eternal honor and gratitude to everyone who defended Ukraine and gave their life in this fight. May the memory of our fallen warriors be blessed. And gratitude as well to those who create memorial spaces for our heroes, where Ukrainians can come and simply say, “Thank you.” It is very important that there be more of these spaces. Today in the Odesa region, the Russians once again destroyed an ordinary passenger train locomotive with a jet-powered drone. There were 340 people on the train. And whoever was operating that drone certainly could not have been unaware that the target was entirely civilian. I spoke with Prime Minister of Armenia @NikolPashinyan. Relations between Ukraine and Armenia are now becoming even more constructive, and it is important that we maintain a continuous dialogue. We discussed the results of my visit to Armenia and the priority areas for cooperation. From January through August of this year, our warriors of the Airborne Assault Forces and other units carried out an effective offensive operation in the Oleksandrivskyi sector. Emergency response efforts have been ongoing since last night to deal with the aftermath of the Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia. The city was struck with North Korean ballistic missiles, Zircons, and guided aerial bombs. It was a vicious attack, calculated to inflict maximum damage specifically on civilian infrastructure. Terrible news about the earthquake in western Colombia, which also affected neighboring Ecuador. As of now, at least 25 people have been reported dead, and there are people trapped under the rubble.
