For 70 years, @scotiabank has been part of Barbados’ story. Recently at Ilaro Court, I met with the bank’s Caribbean leadership to discuss how finance can do more for our people and our region.

Access to capital must mean access to opportunity. No Government should have to choose between rebuilding after a hurricane and protecting the health, education and security of its people. That is why natural disaster clauses and better disaster financing matter.

We must also turn more Bajan savers into Bajan investors, putting Caribbean capital to work building Caribbean businesses, homes and infrastructure.

We have the savings. We have the talent. Let us create the conditions for both to build a stronger Caribbean, where more of our people share in the prosperity we create.
