I have been clear that the standard of education we have today is not sufficient to support the growth and development our country needs. That is why we have established the second Education Transformation Task Force, building on what has already been done.

Our children must be equipped with the ability to think critically, solve problems and contribute meaningfully to Jamaica’s future. How and where they learn also matters. We need learning environments that are comfortable, modern and responsive to our changing climate.

That is why the six new STEM schools we plan to build will use modern, sustainable designs that allow our children to learn in comfort.

We have to prepare our children for the Jamaica we want to build. Jamaica must wake up.
