Today, as Parliament paid tribute to The Right Excellent Sir Garfield Sobers in the presence of his family, I announced Government’s plans to rename Bay Primary School in his honour and publishing 365 Not Out, a pocketbook of daily lessons from his life for every schoolchild in Barbados.

From the Bay Land to global greatness, Sir Garry showed every Barbadian child that where you begin should never determine where you can go. You can be a citizen of the world while remaining grounded in your Bajan roots. His runs can be counted. The generations he will inspire cannot.
