Damascus, Sept. 21 (SANA)Seventeen people were injured in traffic accidents across several areas of Syria on Sunday, theSyrian Civil Defensesaid Monday.

The Civil Defense said its teams responded to 18 traffic accidents, providing first aid to the injured before transferring them to hospitals for further treatment.

Response teams also cleared the accident sites and secured the affected areas, according to a statement posted on the Civil Defense Telegram channel.

The Civil Defense urged drivers to take precautions, including reducing speed, checking vehicle conditions and ensuring brakes and windshield wipers are functioning properly.

It also advised drivers to avoid behaviors that reduce concentration while driving, such as using mobile phones.

The latest figures follow another series of road accidents in which 42 people were injured in 22traffic incidentsacross several areas on Saturday, according to the Civil Defense.
