Zambia Sets Foreign Policy on Economic Diplomacy
President Hakainde Hichilema has announced that Zambia’s foreign policy will be strengthened and anchored on economic diplomacy to advance theGrow Zambia Agenda.
The Head of State emphasised that the approach is critical as the country transitions from economic stabilisation to sustained growth. He noted that Africa continues to record the lowest levels of intra‑continental trade but expressed confidence that this trend will improve in the future.
At State House this afternoon, President Hichilema received Letters of Credence from newly accredited envoys representing Canada, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, Guinea and Nigeria.
The President underscored that Zambia will engage fairly with all nations as it seeks to attract investment and expand trade across multiple sectors. He highlighted that the envoys begin their tour of duty at a pivotal moment when Zambia is focused on delivering growth through enhanced trade and targeted investment.
He further stressed the importance of safeguarding peace both on the continent and globally, describing stability as the foundation for sustainable progress.
President Hichilema wished the ambassadors and high commissioner fruitful tenures and reaffirmed Zambia’s commitment to strengthening partnerships for the mutual benefit of its people and the wider international community.
