Aleppo, Sept. 20 (SANA)Aneco-friendly productsmarket opened inAleppoon Saturday, bringing together more than 60 exhibitors to promoterecycling, waste reduction and sustainable products.

Organized by theAleppo Environment Directorate, the market features handicrafts and products made from recycled materials by local artisans and community groups.

Ahmad Daher, director of the Environment Directorate in Aleppo province, told SANA the event aims to raise awareness of sustainable products and recycling methods while helping reduce solid waste and pollution and conserve environmental resources.

Rola Safar, a member of the Aleppo Provincial Executive Office responsible for health, environment and sanitation, said the event highlights crafts that turn environmentally harmful and polluting materials into useful, marketable products.

Craftswoman Marah Junaid al-Hassan said she uses natural wool and cotton yarn and repurposes old clothing to make bedspreads and bags. She said visitors had shown strong interest in traditional crafts and innovative designs.

The market is part of environmental initiatives supported by Aleppo province. In July and August, local authorities carried out awareness campaigns and waste-management programs in cooperation with community organizations to reduce pollution.
