Kyiv, Sept. 20 (SANA)Russia launched more than 2,000 attack drones, 1,700 aerial bombs and 19 missiles of various types against Ukraine over the past week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Sunday.

Zelensky said most of the drones used during the week were jet-powered, while Russian attacks targeted civilian and critical infrastructure across several Ukrainian regions.

He said an FPV drone struck a men’s monastery in the Kherson region on Saturday, killing one member of the clergy and injuring four others. Critical and civilian infrastructure was also targeted in the Kharkiv, Sumy and Odesa regions, while residential buildings were hit in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia, according to Zelensky.

The Ukrainian president said the Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Cherkasy regions also came under attack and renewed his call for Ukraine’s international partners to impose additional sanctions on Russia.

Ukraine’s Air Force separately said Russia launched 138 drones overnight from Sept. 19 to 20, of which 101 were shot down or electronically suppressed. It reported strikes at 17 locations and falling debris at five others.
