42 injured in road accidents across Syria over the past 24 hours
Damascus, Sept. 20 (SANA)Forty-two people were injured in 22road accidentsreported across Syria on Saturday, according to the Civil Defense, which responded to the incidents alongside the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management.In a statement posted on Telegram on Sunday, theCivil Defensesaid its teams provided first aid to the injured before transporting them to hospitals for medical treatment. The teams also removed debris from accident sites and secured affected areas.
The Civil Defense urged drivers to reduce speed, check vehicle conditions, including brakes and windshield wipers, and avoid distractions such as mobile phone use while driving.Civil Defense teams also responded to 58 fires affecting agricultural fields, crops, homes, commercial establishments, vegetation, trees, rubbish and electrical wires.The fires were extinguished, and teams cooled and secured the affected locations. No injuries were reported, with damage limited to property.The service urged residents to avoid lighting fires in forested areas and agricultural fields, and not to throw cigarette butts or glass containers near roads, crops or forests.It also advised against burning dry vegetation around homes or along roads, recommending safe removal methods instead.Three people were killed and 39 others injured on Friday in road accidents and fires handled by Civil Defense teams affiliated with the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management.
