New York, Sept. 19 (SANA)Members of theUN Security Councilon Friday condemned in the strongest terms the continued attacks carried out by the Houthi militia againstSaudi Arabia,including those targeting civilians and energy infrastructure, affirming the Kingdom’s inherent right to self-defense in accordance with international law.In a statement published by UN News, the Council members reiterated their condemnation of Houthi attacks and threats targeting commercial vessels in theRed SeaandBab al-Mandab Strait, stressing the need to ensure the safety of ships and their crews and to respect freedom of navigation and maritime rights under international law, particularly the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.They on theHouthi militiato immediately halt its military escalation and attacks affecting civilians and,  stressing the importance of the full implementation of Security Council Resolution 2216 of 2015 and subsequent relevant resolutions.
