Ukraine says its forces struck 300 Russian air defense assets since start of 2026
Kyiv, Sept. 19 (SANA)Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) said they have struck 300 Russian air defense assets in Russian-held Ukrainian territories and inside Russia since the beginning of 2026.
USF Commander Robert “Madyar” Brovdi said the figure, reached on Sept. 19, covered Russian air defense units and systems that Ukrainian forces claim to have destroyed or damaged over 261 days, according to Ukrinform.
Brovdi said 37 air defense assets were struck between Sept. 1 and 18, including 26 between Sept. 10 and 18.
Since the launch of the operation known as “PPOpad-2026,” the USF said its strikes, which it says were confirmed by video footage, targeted 162 surface-to-air missile and anti-aircraft missile-gun systems, 124 radar systems and 14 electronic warfare systems.
Among the targets was a Russian Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system near Ukrainka in the Zaporizhzhia region, according to the Ukrainian military.
Ukrainian forces also reported strikes on Russian drone-control posts, a training ground and support facilities in Russian-held areas of the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions on Sept. 18 and overnight into Sept. 19.
