Three killed, 39 injured in traffic accidents and fires across Syria during 24 hours

Damascus, Sept. 19 (SANA)– Three people died and 39 others were injured intraffic accidentsand fires responded to by Syrian Civil Defense teams under the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management over the past 24 hours in several provinces.

The Civil Defensesaid on Saturday that its teams responded to 20 traffic accidents, which resulted in three deaths and injuries to 37 civilians. The injured were provided with first aid and transferred to hospitals for necessary treatment, while the effects of the accidents were removed and the sites secured.

The teams also responded to 59firesacross Syria, including one in fields and agricultural crops. The remaining fires involved homes, commercial shops, grass, trees, garbage and electrical wiring.

The fires caused two injuries, including one among afirefighterand another involving a civilian. Both received first aid, while other losses were limited to material damage.

On Thursday, two people were killed and 22 others injured in fires and traffic accidents responded to by Civil Defense teams in several Syrian provinces.
