Cairo, Sept. 19 (SANA)Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, and US President Donald Trump’s Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs Massad Boulos stressed the importance of ensuring freedom of maritime navigation in theStrait of Hormuzduring a phone call on Saturday.

Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the two sides discussed regional developments and reaffirmed the importance of safeguarding freedom of navigation in the strait in accordance with international law and relevant rules.

Regarding Sudan, Abdelatty stressed the need to create conditions for political solutions based on dialogue and negotiations, reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to preserving Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity and national institutions.

On Libya, the Egyptian foreign minister stressed the importance of preserving Libya’s unity and sovereignty, supporting its national institutions and coordinating regional and international efforts to help Libyan parties reach a sustainable political settlement.FJ/MZ
