At the event, which included the lighting of a torch, laying of a cornerstone for the construction of of a martyr cemetery, tree planting, and the laying of a wreath, Mr. Adrisal a director general of culture and sports in the Gashbarka region said that the program will continue in the subzones of Baru Tess and likewise a photo exhibition reflecting the living conditions of the students of revolution school as well as their sports cultural and other activities was officially opened in Baronu on 17th September. Ambassador Mahmud Ali Heroi, Governor of the Region, Burgar General Makon, Chief of Staff of the Western Command, senior regional officials, members of the former revolution school, and others attended the two events. In similar news, various activities in connection with the golden jubilee of the establishment of revolution school are being conducted in the central region. Mr. Asarum Agabrahan, a director general of culture and sports in the central region said that three months of preparations had been carried out to colorfully commemorate the events in Azara and its environments. The subzonal administrators and heads of education officers said that the establishment of revolution school was a historic event that reflected the far-sightness of the EPLF and that the victory achieved despite the challenge encountered had laid the foundation for a bright future. The event will be highlighted by cultural and artistic performances involving several cultural troops. Meanwhile, the celebration program for the golden jubilee of the establishment of revolution school was officially opened at the subzonal levels in the northern red sea region on 17th September under the theme of vibrant commemoration new empetus for nation building at the opening event in Masawa. The US Department of State said on Thursday that it had approved the potential sale of F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia. The State Department reported Saudi Arabia made a direct appeal for the jets in early 2025 to US President Donald Trump and has long been interested in the Lockheed Martin's fighter jets. The F35 built with Stell's technology that allows it to evade enemy detection is considered the world's most advanced fighter jet. Israel has operated the airfact for a decade and has remained the only Middle Eastern country to possess the system. Saudi Arabia, the largest customer for US arms, has sold the fighter for four years as it looks to modernize its air force and counter regional threats. The kingdom's renewed push comes as the Trump administration has signaled openness to deepening defense cooperation with the country. In 2025, the Trump administration agreed to sell the kingdom an arms package worth nearly 142 billion US, which the White House called its highest defense cooperation agreement. Moving on, the UN Security Council on Thursday rejected to adopt a draft resolution that would have extended the mandate of the panel of experts on Iran sanctions. The resolution drafted by the United States, received 11 votes in favor, two against and two abstensions. Russia and China, both permanent members of the UN Security Council, voted against the draft resolution, stating the United States proposal is politically aimed at creating pressure on Iran. Before the vote, representatives of China and Russia stated that the resolution on Iran's nuclear issue had expired on October 18, 2025, and that the Iran nuclear issue has since been removed from the Security Council's agenda. According to records, Iran, the United States, and several other countries had lifted the majority of the UN imposed sanctions on Iran under the 2015 joint comprehensive plan of action agreement and security council resolution 2231 in the year 2016. In August 2025, however, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom triggered a mechanism to reimpose UN sanctions on the country. In today's final report, South Korean President Li Jaong said today that his country would not deploy a military assets to the Middle East in a way that could draw his country into conflict. The president reported so as a response to claims made that his country could be engaged in the military operation upon request from the United States.
