Deir Ezzor, Sept. 18 (SANA)An explosion occurred at a Syrian Arab Army position in the Ayyash area, west of Deir Ezzor, the Media and Communication Directorate at the Ministry of Defense announced Friday.

The directorate stated that authorities are investigating the causes of the blast and assessing the resulting damages.

A SANA correspondent earlier reported that a loud blast was heard in the town of Ayyash, in western ruralDeir Ezzor, prompting an initial inquiry into its nature.
