Tashkent, Sept. 18 (SANA)Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal al-Shaar and Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov signed a memorandum of understanding in Tashkent on Friday to establish a joint economic and trade committee.

The agreement establishes a framework for regular follow-up on economic and commercial relations, information exchange, joint business opportunities, and addressing trade challenges between the two nations.

Syria’sMinistry of Economy and Industrystated that the signing followed bilateral talks on attracting investment, developing industrial and commercial projects, and leveraging Uzbekistan’s experience in streamlining investor processes from opportunity identification to project execution.

Under the agreement, the committee will meet annually, alternating between Syria and Uzbekistan, with participation from private sector representatives to transition from economic dialogue into scalable projects and partnerships.

Al-Shaar arrived in Uzbekistan on Thursday leading an economic delegation to discuss expanding commercial, industrial, andinvestment cooperation.
