Israeli army burns hospital in southern Lebanon; Health Ministry calls it ‘war crime’

Beirut, Sept. 18 (SANA)Israeli forces set fire to the Meiss Ej Jabal Governmental Hospital in the Marjayoun district of Nabatieh Governorate insouthern Lebanonon Friday, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.

The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health condemned the action as a flagrant assault and a full-fledged war crime, stating that Israeli forces previously converted the facility into a military barracks before burning it completely to deprive residents of healthcare access.

The ministry called on theinternational community, theWorld Health Organization, and theInternational Committee of the Red Crossto hold Israel accountable for repeated attacks on Lebanon’s health sector. The Syndicate of Hospital Workers in Bekaa also denounced the burning as a direct attack on healthcare infrastructure and medical staff.

Lebanon’s Ministry of Health reported Thursday that the death toll from Israeli attacks reached 4,386 between March 2 and Sept. 17.
