During the visit, it was noted that Uzbekfilm is not only Uzbekistan’s largest film studio but also a vital component of its national cultural heritage. For almost a hundred years, this studio has produced films that depict the history, lives, traditions, and spiritual values of the Uzbek people.

Saida Mirziyoyeva stated that our shared goal is to transform Uzbekfilm into a national brand and a central hub for the country’s contemporary film industry.

To reach this objective, the industry’s management system will be enhanced. At the same time, the state’s role will shift from a commissioning party that intervenes in the creative process to a strategic partner that fosters an environment for industry growth and provides financial support. Private film studios, independent producers, and filmmakers are anticipated to lead the ongoing development of the film sector.

Special focus will be given to modernizing the entire film production process – from financing and filmmaking to distribution, theatrical releases, festival promotion, and export. These steps aim to align with international standards. Protecting the national cinematic heritage remains a key priority. The system for storing, restoring, and digitizing national films will be enhanced. Additionally, efforts to train new specialists, upgrade professional skills, and promote international experience exchange will be expanded.

Special attention was given to creating a professional atmosphere and promoting self-regulation in the industry, ensuring that the perspectives, experience, and professional status of directors, producers, and other industry representatives are considered.

Following her visit, Saida Mirziyoyeva toured a historical film set about the childhood of the renowned scholar Abu Ali ibn Sina. She examined the extensive sets, watched the creative team in action, congratulated the filmmakers, and expressed hope to see audiences at the premiere.
