The event was held at the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan Cultural Center at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan. It was attended by representatives of state and public organizations, heads of higher education institutions, cultural and artistic figures, representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora, and youth.

Opening the event, the Head of the Center, Akif Marifli, highlighted the dynamic growth of cultural and humanitarian cooperation. According to him, the shared historical roots, linguistic and cultural proximity, and the spiritual values of the two peoples create a solid foundation for strengthening friendship and brotherhood.

Special attention was given to the creative legacy of Uzeyir Hajibeyli. It was emphasized that the composer’s works are widely popular in Uzbekistan and help foster cultural dialogue between the two countries. In this context, the activities of the Kharibulbul theater troupe, established at the center in 2025, were highlighted.

Embassy Counselor Mahir Jafarov delivered the welcoming speech on behalf of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Rashad Mammadov. He highlighted that Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have been connected by deep historical, spiritual, and cultural bonds for centuries. These strong foundations have helped their relationship flourish into a strategic partnership and alliance. The speech also emphasized that humanitarian and cultural connections are crucial in fostering closer ties between the peoples, and that joint cultural projects and creative initiatives help reinforce the brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, ensuring these shared values are passed to future generations.

The event also featured a movie premiere about the life and work of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, developed by the center with advanced AI technologies.

A highlight of the evening was the staging of the world-famous operetta “Arshin Mal Alan” for the jubilee. The performance was a joint effort by the Kharibulbul theater troupe and the Karabakh Zafari dance ensemble, both part of the center. It drew significant interest from the audience.

The event helps promote Uzeyir Hajibeyli’s rich artistic legacy in Uzbekistan, drawing young people to Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage and strengthening cultural and humanitarian connections between the two nations.
