Our fruitful official talks have laid a strong foundation for the future, reaffirming our shared commitment to expanding cooperation in key areas, including trade and investment, education and healthcare, tourism and sustainable development, Islamic affairs, and defence cooperation.

I am extremely grateful for your decision to consider extending a short-term currency swap facility of USD 100 million through our central banks. I am also pleased that the Government of Malaysia has agreed in principle to commence negotiations on a Preferential Trade Agreement, important steps that will further strengthen our economic partnership and create new opportunities for our peoples and businesses.

I also sincerely appreciate the timely message of support and encouragement you kindly sent for the PNC National Congress.

Your visit has opened a dynamic new chapter in the enduring bonds of friendship between the Maldives and Malaysia. I am confident that the brotherhood between our two nations will continue to reach new heights, for the mutual benefit and prosperity of our peoples.
