Damascus, Sept. 18 (SANA)Syria’sMinistry of Emergency and Disaster Managementwarned of rough seas along theLatakiaandTartouscoasts from Friday morning through early Sunday, advising fishermen and small-boat operators to postpone trips.

The ministry said waves could reach 1 to 1.3 meters from Friday afternoon through Saturday morning, while southwesterly winds could reach 35 kph along southern Tartous.

Conditions are expected to ease from Saturday morning, with waves falling to between 0.5 and 0.9 meters by early Sunday.

The ministry urged those who must go to sea to wear life jackets, check safety equipment and follow official marine bulletins. It also advised against swimming and using inflatable boats during periods of high waves or strong winds.
