At the close of 2025, five years into the administration of President Luis Abinader, Puerto Plata received 2.5 million visitors. We added 1.5 million visitors in 5 years. This does not include second home tourism, which is primarily from the local market, especially from the central Cibao region. Puerto Plata is different today, and with the various initiatives being implemented, this is the beginning of a great journey that will lead Puerto Plata to once again become a benchmark in various aspects.
