Damascus, Sept. 17 (SANA)One person died and 17 others were injured in 92 fires andtraffic accidentsacross Syria over the past 24 hours, theSyrian Civil Defensesaid Thursday.

Civil Defense teams responded to 14 traffic accidents that left one person dead and 14 others injured, according to a statement posted on Telegram.

Emergency crewsprovided first aid, transported the injured to hospitals and secured the accident sites.

Teams also responded to 78firesthat injured three civilians, while other damage was limited to property, the Civil Defense said.

Civil Defense called on the public to avoid lighting fires in forests andagricultural areasor discarding cigarette butts and glass containers near crops and wooded areas. Dry grass around homes and roadsides should be removed safely rather than burned.

Two days earlier, Civil Defense teams responded to 23 traffic accidents across Syria that left 20 people injured.
