Deir Ezzor showcases reconstruction, urban development projects at Emaar 2026

Damascus, Sept. 17 (SANA)Deir Ezzor province showcased a package of investment projects at Emaar 2026 International Exhibition in Damascus, focusing on rubble removal, reconstruction, housing and urban expansion.

Haitham al-Ayyad, director of properties and investment atDeir Ezzorprovince, told SANA that the investment opportunities have been officially documented and are being promoted to potential investors.Among the flagship projects is “Fajr al-Furat,” an 18-month initiative launched on Sept. 10 to remove and recycle about 10 million tons of rubble, equivalent to 4.2 million cubic meters, clearing sites for reconstruction and urban development.Al-Ayyad said the province is also preparing a comprehensive plan for a new city covering about 30 million square meters alongside the existing city, with proposed development of around 100,000 housing units.Other investment opportunities include about 2,000 dunums along Damascus-Panorama road and 300 dunums in the Huwayjat Qati area. The province is prioritizing projects that can create jobs and stimulate the local economy.The plans seek to move Deir Ezzor from addressing widespread wartime destruction toward integrated reconstruction and urban development. More than 60% of residential buildings in the city were damaged, according to provincial figures.Emaar 2026, which opened on Sept. 13, brought together 356 companies from 27 countries to showcase reconstruction and investment opportunities across Syria.
