Palestinian Prisoners’ Club says 92 killed in Israeli prisons since Gaza war

Occupied Jerusalem, Sept. 17 (SANA)The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said Thursday that 92 identified Palestinian prisoners have been killed in Israeli occupation prisons since the start of the war on the Gaza Strip, including 53 detainees from Gaza.

The Palestinian news agency WAFA cited the group as saying the deaths occurred amid a systematic crimes and violations against prisoners, including torture, starvation, medical negligence, sexual assaults, abuse and humiliation, as well as the denial of basic human rights.

The group said the fate of a number of detainees from Gaza remains unknown amid enforced disappearances. It said testimonies and evidence indicated that dozens of detainees had been subjected to field executions.

The latest figures bring to 329 the number of identified Palestinian prisoners who have been killed in Israeli prisons since 1967, according to the group.

Israeli occupation authorities are withholding the bodies of 100 identified prisoners, the group said.

In its latest update, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said about 9,350 Palestinians were being held in Israeli occupation prisons at the beginning of September, including 90 women and more than 350 children.FJ/ABD
