Damascus, Sept. 16 (SANA)Economy and Industry MinisterNidal al-Shaarwill travel toUzbekistanon Thursday, accompanied by an economic delegation, for talks aimed at strengthening economic ties and exploring new opportunities for trade, investment and business partnerships between the two countries.

Qassem Kamel, director of government communications at theEconomy and Industry Ministry, told SANA on Wednesday that the visit follows a recent trip toSyriaby an Uzbek delegation for discussions on areas of mutual economic cooperation.

Kamel said the visit is part of the ministry’s efforts to expand Syria’s economic presence in international markets and strengthen communication with the business community, with the aim of advancing shared economic interests and boosting trade and investment opportunities.

A 25-member Syrian business delegation visited Uzbekistan on Feb. 11 for a multi-day trip during which several memoranda of understanding were signed to strengthen economic and investment cooperation and establish partnerships across various sectors.
