President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has strongly condemned the attempted Houthi drone attack targeting the Holy City of Makkah, affirming that any act threatening the safety and sanctity of Islam’s holiest site is completely unacceptable and deeply offensive to the entire Muslim Ummah.

The President conveyed theseremarkson his official X account today, reaffirming the Maldives’ full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He commended the swift response of the Royal Saudi Air Defence Forces in safeguarding the Holy City, its pilgrims, and residents.

The President further called for an immediate cessation of such attacks, urging all concerned parties to avoid further escalation and commit to the path of peace and dialogue.
