Oil prices rise amid supply concerns after attacks on Saudi energy facilities

Washington, Sept. 15 (SANA)Oil pricessettled about 1% higher on Monday as fresh attacks on energy infrastructure inSaudi Arabiaand incidents involving vessels in the Middle East raised concerns over potential disruptions to global supplies.

Brent and U.S. crude futures initially surged nearly 5% before easing from session highs after U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran was seeking a deal with Washington.

Brent crude futures rose $1.07, or 1%, to settle at $105.68 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures gained $1.34, or 1.3%, to close at $101.39 a barrel, according to Reuters.

Shipping data showed the number of vessels passing through theStrait of Hormuzfell below 10 a day over the weekend, compared with a 10-day average of 14 vessels, adding to concerns over trade flows through one of the world’s most important oil transit routes.
