Dubai, Sept. 15 (SANA)UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai SheikhMohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoumsaid relations between theUAEandSyriaare based on friendship, brotherhood and mutual appreciation, following his meeting with President Ahmadal-Sharaain Dubai.

In a post on the X platform after the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid said the UAE welcomed Syria’s return to the path of development and expressed optimism over its renewed role on the global stage.

“Our relations with Syria are relations of love, friendship, brotherhood and appreciation. We are pleased with its return to the path of development and optimistic about Syria’s return as a civilization to the global position it deserves,” he wrote.

He added that he looked forward to “deep fraternal relations between the two friendly peoples.”

The meeting between Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and President al-Sharaa took place on the sidelines of the 2026Arab Media Summitin Dubai and was attended by Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani.

During his participation in the summit, President al-Sharaa discussed Syria’s future vision, economic opportunities, regional stability and the role of media in a dialogue titled “Syria of the Future.”
