Beirut, Sept. 15 (SANA)Israeli occupation forces continued attacks on towns and cities insouthern Lebanonon Monday, using airstrikes and artillery shelling that caused significant material damage, Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported.

NNA said Israeli warplanes carried out a strike on the town of al-Mansouri in Tyre district, causing extensive destruction to several homes. It added that separate airstrikes targeted the towns of Haneen and Kfar Tibnit in Nabatieh Governorate.

The agency reported thatIsraeli aircraftalso struck Qantara in Marjayoun district and the Ain al-Samahiyah area between Zawtar al-Sharqiyah and Nabatieh al-Fawqa, as well as the vicinity of a United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) position in Haneen, Bint Jbeil district.

Israeli artillery also targeted the Litani River area below Beaufort Castle (Qal’at al-Shaqif) in Marjayoun, while Israeli forces destroyed a school building in Kfar Tibnit. Aerial images showed the extent of damage caused to the building following its demolition, according to NNA.

Earlier on Monday, one person was killed after being shot by Israeli forces in southern Lebanon.

Lebanon and Israel reached a framework agreement on June 26 that provides for the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from areas they had entered in southern Lebanon, alongside the deployment of the Lebanese army.

However, continued Israeli attacks, including shelling, land clearing and demolitions, have affected the completion of the army’s deployment and the return of residents to their villages, according to Lebanese reports.
