We are at the Florencio Sánchez Cultural Center in the hills of Montevideo, participating in the launch of the month of diversity under this year's slogan. Repairing the present is [music] building the future. Repairing involves concrete and direct actions in public policy responses. Diversity touches on many branches, but it also crosses sectors of the population that have very palpable social vulnerabilities. I am part of diversity as a trans girl. I feel that this type of visibility is really necessary because we are a sector that is often stigmatized and violated, and through these types of activities we can make ourselves visible. Can I be myself here without anyone judging me? I can walk freely through the streets, dress as I want [music] and be what I want to be. We are in a different context in Uruguay. Well, the idea is to recognize those advances, see what obstacles [in music] we have and what progress has been made in this year and a half in guaranteeing rights that we now have regulations [in music] that actually define those rights. There are also public policies that must guarantee it. And today we're going to talk about what's being done [music] in some delays we had in the creation of some regulations.
