Oman postpones Salalah regional meeting to allow constructive dialogue

Muscat, Sept. 14 (SANA)Oman has postponed a regional meeting involving Iran and Gulf states that was due to take place inSalalahon Monday, saying the delay was intended to create favorable conditions for constructive dialogue.

In a statement posted on X on Sunday,Oman’s Foreign Ministry said the decision was aimed at fostering dialogue that could lead to sustainable understandings supporting regional security and stability and meeting the aspirations of the region’s peoples for cooperation and peace.

The meeting was expected to discuss regional developments and theStrait of Hormuz, including possible arrangements for navigation through the strategic waterway amid ongoing talks on regulating transit.

Bahrain said on Saturday it would not participate in the meeting. Oman has not announced a new date.
