Damascus, Sept. 14 (SANA)Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassanal-Shaibanimet U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of StateJake McGeein Damascus on Monday for talks on strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding partnership betweenSyriaand theUnited States.

The two officials discussed ways to deepen cooperation between the two countries and reviewed the latest regional and international developments of mutual interest.

The talks also focused on prospects for broadening theSyrian-U.S. partnershipand developing cooperation in areas of shared interest.

McGee’s meeting with al-Shaibani comes during a visit to Damascus by a U.S. economic delegation for talks with Syrian officials aimed at exploring investment opportunities and strengthening economic and business ties.
