Freiburg go top, Dortmund stay perfect as Real Madrid cruise

Berlin, Sept. 13 (SANA)Freiburg climbed to the top of theBundesligawith a 5-0 rout ofBorussia Mönchengladbachon Saturday, while Borussia Dortmund maintained their perfect start with a 3-0 win over promoted Paderborn.

Yannik Engelhardt and Igor Matanovic scored twice each beforeMaximilian Eggesteinadded Freiburg’s fifth, sending 10-man Gladbach to the bottom of the table.

Dortmundmade it three wins from three, their best league start in 11 years. Fábio Silva opened the scoring after five minutes before substitute Felix Nmecha struck twice, including a late bicycle kick.

Elsewhere, Augsburg drew 2-2 withBayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt beat Mainz 3-1, Werder Bremen drew 1-1 at Cologne and Hoffenheim defeated Stuttgart 2-1.

In Spain,Kylian Mbappéscored twice as Real Madrid cruised to a 4-1 victory overRayo Vallecanoat the Santiago Bernabéu, moving level with La Liga leaders Barcelona.

Mbappé converted a 14th-minute penalty before setting up Álvaro Carreras three minutes later. Vinícius Júnior then supplied Jude Bellingham for Real’s third in the 35th minute.

Sergio Camello pulled one back for Rayo after the restart, but Mbappé struck again late on to seal the victory.

The win moved Real Madrid to 12 points, level withBarcelona, who have a game in hand and face Levante on Sunday.

In Italy, substituteDiego Moreirascored twice as Milan came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Lazio in Rome.

Matteo Cancellieri and Tijjani Noslin gave Lazio a 2-0 halftime lead before Moreira struck twice in quick succession after the break. The draw moved Lazio to the top of Serie A, whileMilanare fourth on eight points.

Elsewhere, Cagliari beat Atalanta 2-1, with Daniel Maldini scoring the winner from the penalty spot, while Genoa drew 1-1 with promoted Frosinone.
