Qatar, Jordan discuss regional developments, de-escalation efforts
Doha, Sept. 13 (SANA)Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign MinisterMohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thaniand Jordanian Foreign MinisterAyman Safadidiscussed the latest regional developments and diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions during a phone call on Saturday evening.
The two ministers also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and stressed the importance of joint coordination in supporting efforts to reduce tensions and promote regional security and stability, according to a statement byQatar’s Foreign Ministry.
Al Thani reaffirmed Qatar’s support for diplomatic efforts aimed at reaching a solution that guarantees freedom of maritime navigation and paves the way for a comprehensive agreement that bringslasting peaceto the region.
The talks came amid intensified regional diplomatic activity aimed at preventing further escalation between the United States and Iran and advancingpolitical solutions.
Qatar has repeatedly reaffirmed its support for mediation and efforts to resolve the crisis through peaceful means.
