Beirut, Sept. 13 (SANA)Lebanese PresidentJoseph Aounon Sunday reaffirmed his commitment to Lebanon’s unity, sovereignty and independent decision-making, saying the state must exercise full authority over the country’s territory.

“Lebanon, throughout its entire territory, is the permanent homeland of all its citizens. It is indivisible and cannot be diminished,” Lebanon’s National News Agency quoted Aoun as saying.

He rejected segregation, partition and exclusion, saying that preserving the unity ofLebanon’s territory, people and institutions was the best way to honor those who had sacrificed their lives for the country.

Aoun has previously said Lebanon’s stability was essential to stability in thewider region and Europe, warning that unrest in the country could have far-reaching consequences. He called on friendly nations to help Lebanon maintain stability.
