Damascus, Sep.13 (SANA)The second edition of the Syria Reconstruction International Exhibition“Emaar 2026”kicked off on Sunday at theDamascus Fairgrounds, organized by “Effect Plus” for exhibitions and conferences.

The four-day event, running from 13 to 16 September, is held under the patronage of the Ministries of Economy and Foreign Trade, Industry, Tourism, Local Administration and Environment, the Syrian Investment Authority, the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, and joint Syrian business councils. It brings together representatives of government institutions, investors, and decision-makers across four main sectors: energy, industry, construction, and real estate development.

The exhibition’s program includes bilateral business meetings (B2B), specialized seminars, and panel discussions featuring economic experts and policy makers, aimed at exploring cooperation and investment opportunities and transforming them into practical projects and agreements.

A total of 356 companies from 27 countries are participating, representing more than 1,700 commercial agencies, marking a 145 percent increase compared with the previous edition.

The exhibition features the participation of the Saudi Export Development Authority, official representation from the Turkish Ministry of Environment, Urban Planning and Climate Change, the Turkish Housing Administration (TOKİ), the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD), in addition to the Jordan Export House.

Local Administration and Environment Minister Mohammad Anjarani said during the opening ceremony that the presence of national, Arab, and international companies reflects confidence in Syria’s future and readiness to contribute to its reconstruction.

He noted that the Syrian market is broad, growing, and rich in opportunities and expertise, requiring long-term partnerships that combine capital, experience, and technology with national capabilities.

Anjarani added that large packages of projects and investments have already been launched across various sectors and governorates, and will continue expanding in the coming phase. Current priorities, he said, include reconstruction, development, stability, infrastructure rehabilitation, energy, real estate development, and projects aligned with the vision of “Syria Without Camps,” ensuring safe housing, essential services, and job opportunities that support voluntary and dignified return.

Director of the Syrian Investment Authority Ahmad Rawad Ramadan stated that the path toward reconstruction is now open, with workforces mobilized and the wheels of construction already turning. Building a new Syria, he emphasized, requires new foundations and a more transparent and organized market that protects rights, strengthens investor confidence, and accelerates the transition of projects from ideas to implementation.

For his part, Ömer Bulut, Türkiye’s Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, said the exhibition represents an important platform that brings together public institutions, local administrations, technical organizations, and the private sector for the shared goal of Syria’s reconstruction.

He noted that the interactions taking place during the event will contribute to the revival of Syrian cities and the enhancement of services.

The exhibition remains open to visitors and specialists throughout its duration at the Damascus Fairgrounds.
