Aleppo, Sept. 12 (SANA)– Internal Security forces reinforced their deployment in the city of Ayn al-Arab inAleppocountryside following an attack on one of their posts and a patrol while carrying out their duties, and managed to restore calm to the city and detain a number of those involved in the attacks.

In a statement on Friday, theInternal Securitydepartment in Ayn al-Arab said that Internal Security patrols were deployed in the city to secure a protest held following the killing of young man Sami Sheikhmos Hasso by suspects who are still being pursued by the Internal Security forces in preparation for their arrest and referral to the competent judiciary.“During the protest, a number of participants threw stones at security personnel, while gunfire was also opened and several security posts in the city were set on fire, resulting in injuries among Internal Security personnel,” the department said.

It noted that security forces intervened to contain the situation and arrested a number of those involved in the attacks, while search and pursuit operations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects and take the necessary legal measures against them.

The Internal Security forces called on residents ofAyn al-Arabto remain calm, exercise restraint and avoid being drawn into any attempts to undermine stability or disrupt civil peace.
