President El-Sisi Holds Joint Press Conference with Cyprus President and Greek Prime Minister

Please for the most compassionate excellency president the President of Cyprus, Prime Minister Kasmus, the Prime Minister of Greece, this distinguished guest, I'd like to welcome my dear friends in Egypt in the framework of the mechanism of the tripartite cooperation mechanism that has became a role model in the cooperation regionally and strategically that is based on the mutual respect, mutual benefit Alongo is boostering the w the wise policy and the revival revival of the law of the international um community along with our area. Ladies and gentlemen, Egypt is fully confident that the U joint ultra lateral um partnership between Egypt, Greece and Cyprus would contribute in the stability in the region. Therefore, I've discussed with my guest the mechanism of the um trade and economic cooperation mechanism and affirmed in joint effort in supporting peace along with the joint project that would lead to the tangible project and fruitful that would benefit the whole region. In this field, the energy cooperation came on top of our project that Egypt is very keen the importance of the electrical um connection in the field or in the areas of the Mediterranean and region Europe and also reflect the strategic operations in the natural gas with Cyprus that we look forward to transfer to the infrastructure of gas and then reexported to Europe to our countries in this field. This cooperation is not only for the extending the um supplies in Europe but achieving um economic benefits in our peoples and contribute in the security of energy regionally and internationally. Therefore, we've examined the uh development of the investment corporations where Egypt is very much indeed keen on the sector of health and education construction that will give genian opportunities to bolster partnership between the private sector chambers and industrial chambers. that would lead to um added value for all of us. Ladies and gentlemen, the trilateral partnership between our countries aren't limited for the cooperations in the field of economy and politics, but also the military and security coordination in order to confront the challenges of our region such as terrorism and the organized crime that contribute in the interest of our countries. And also this require to know solid commitment for the international laws and to respect the sovereignty of the states and nations and also to have only the dialogue in confronting all challenges. Our meeting is very good opportunity to exchange visions regarding the accelerated developments regionally and hence let me to reiterate Egypt started to deescalate the situation and tensions that would spare our countries to let the country the region to have more conflicts and also Egypt also reaffirmed our rejections. of affecting the brotherly Arab nations in order to foster the Arab bond and also tackled the development of the Palestinian cause where we are permanent to execute the determinance of the Sharmashik agreement and the ceasefire agreement and also to guarantee to have a full access of the humanitarian aids and also to categorically reject the displacement of the Palestinian people or the intercourse of the Palestinian territories and very important to work for the guarantee of keeping the Palestinian people on their lands and I affirm that the just and sustainable peace in the region won't be achieved without establishing the independent Palestinian state on the alliance of the 4th of June 1967 Eastern Jerusalem as its capital and was tackled with my guests today during the conditions in Libya were affirmed to support the Libyan Libyan trajectory that would lead to parliamentary and presidential elections and to end the divisions with it is necessarily to u exit the mercenaries in the lands that would keep and preserve the stability in Libya in Syria. To conclude, I reiterate my welcome with the prime minister of Greece and president of Cyprus and I affirm my the importance of commitment to support the framework of cooperations and its stability will be achieved based on the solid principles in the basis of the international law. Mr. President, Mr. Prime Minister, ladies and gentlemen, pleases me very much to meet today in Alamin New City, which is an area that is prominent historically and such as the features of the the world war and the victory of the allies with the uh participation of Greece and Cyprus in 1940 in North Africa and guaranteed the security of Egypt and also in I would like to thank my friend President Cishi for his invitation and his host of our bilateral meetings and the trilateral summit and to congratulate Egypt to for a very distinguished uh hospitality in the Alamain International Air. Our meeting today wasn't formal uh but in general was very much strategic throughout a decade of work in building and a solid framework based in the mutual trust that has an strategic in depths in the field of cooperation positively that is based on such cooperations. In this vein, I'm going to reaffirm that we adopt these trilateral partnerships based on main four point stability, security, cooperation in the Mediterranean area. Based in that we've had an opportunity to exchange views regarding the latest developments in the region. So we explored the trilateral cooperation that is continuously is deepen as it is very important to be expanded throughout the different arenas. It is more truly that within less than two weeks some of the six circle of the trilateral meeting of the ministry of the will be held in Kai followed by a meetings of the foreign ministers in New York in September. We look forward for Cyprus to host the the 13th summit during the upcoming month. Certainly one of the biggest decisions in cooperation between our countries, but especially in taking the decisions such as the the comprehensive stability, including decron right in Cyprus by affirming the move of Cyprus to the era of exporting in natural gas through the Egyptian infra. infrastructure to Europe. This include it is very the importance of our cooperation along with the role of the Mediterranean area as it is an alternative passage or waterway for the European continent. Ladies and gentlemen, as we've indicated before, we've had an chance for exchange views in full scale regarding the uh latest meeting and our country is seeking for a very expanded Mediterranean of stability and peace and also to the neighborlyhood along with respecting the international law. And also we need to end the aggressive actions and escalation and reaching in a peaceful solution of the regional disagreement as it is always based on the international legitimacy. Based on the that the joint announcement would include in light of the UN charter, the international law and the regional peace will be the only compass that we are going to commit with that supporting the regional stability and work in a transparent way and respecting the sovereignty rights of the nation. Allow me to speak in detail. to start with the Palestinian cause and reiterate our genian and clear uh positions leading the um two-state solution and then also we need to reemphasize that we reject any forcible displacement for the Palestinian people with respect to Gaza. Egypt is playing an very decisive role in bolstering peace and stability along with the its assistance of the humanitarian aids. In the same time, Cyprus continues benefiting its um geographical position to complete the flow of the um humanitarian aid through the path of Jordan with respect to Lebanon. our support to its sovereign so sovereignity and the integrity of its integrities along with its national institutions related to Syria as affirmed by President LCC. We affirm our relations bas in the uh good neighborhood according to the international law along with the um maritime law. Furthermore, as we are um maritime free countries with the the protections in the maritime security along with the international trade is in top priority according to the international law as it is stipulated in the U the related to uh in agreement. Ladies and gent gentlemen, Egypt is the main pillar in stability for the regions. Egypt security and its stability is is directly linked to the peace and security throughout the region along with Europe. And therefore the Cyprus and Greece will relentlessly work in supporting Egypt from the European side. efforts exerted by Nusia and Athena and it has a tangible results such in order to post the ties between the EU and Egypt that would lead to our benefit. We also welcome the release of the uh another European uh aids to be released that were announced in March 2024 through the uh European Commissioners visit to Cairo where we participated beside or along with another leaders and also I need to remind you with this respect that through the s presidency of the European Council was that ended before in order to bolster the um ties between the EU and the Middle East and we've honored to host to host President Lisi in the European Council meeting that was held in January and I think that the president's participation was historical as it was the first time on the high political level to talk with the European community and an opportunity to exchange views with their leaders and before to conclude I wish to thank once again uh uh Mr. Mr. Prime Minister and Mr. President for support in in the Turkish occupation in Cyprus and reaching a solution to bit on the um United Nation resolution. As I indicated before, I look forward to host your upcoming summit in Cyprus. Thank you, Mr. President. And I now I call Mr. Prime Minister of Greece to say his speech. You have the floor, sir. Mr. President Abdul Falisi de Mr. Nikos, it pleases me to once again to meet real two friends in a meeting as an accomplishment of the 10th trilateral summit that was held in the last year in Cairo in a place as mentioned by Cyprus president that has a very special symbol as Alamine that has a very historical significance in the war of 1942 and the victory of the uh our allies in the same time exploring the future through it hosting an international exhibition that is fixed that is based on or focused on innovation and technology. So really uh affirmed the cooperation between Greece, Egypt and Cyprus that started 16 years ago is uh an a positive model for the interest of of prosperity and stability in the Middle East and a main pillar of security in a a very conflicted area and and a trajectory for understanding doesn't target any other third parties. there was an an opportunity to study and consultate the developments and ties and I'm agree with the presidents that we are supporting the just peace regarding Gaza based on the two state solutions and the priority is now to execute the second phase of the ceasefire plan and the disarmament that would pave the way of the reconstruction of the region and guarantee of the flow of the humanitarian aid to without any restrictions to the civilians and I thank you Mr. President of Egypt that Egypt is going to play and a very fruitful um uh role With regard development in Lebanon, we as whole support its integrity and its uh security on their territories as I personally affirmed to President Joseph during my visit affirming Gree the full support of Greece to Lib Lebanon in order to have the uh peace and stability throughout Lebanon with respect to the issues in Libya. We support the unity of the uh it's supported the the u um the um the Libyan ownership based on the United Nations system without any foreign interfering that would lead a comprehensive and free and just elections. in order to uh um minimize the illegal um immigration to Greece. And I [snorts] salute president to his solid and decisive confrontations and how they he managed and give the full support. Naturally, We reiterate in regent sustainable and just solution in the retic causes in the framework of the United Nations and the relevant resolutions in the region causes affirmed would contribute to achieve peace and stability in the region and we have a full support the efforts of the UN secretary general and he is a special convoy invoy to complete the negotiation in order to come out with fruitful result and we should not forget we're talking about a company or a country that is an EU member as we've discussed the maritime security And the restoration of communist from Horum's street to Babi is a very international significance and the rights of the passages as they are stipulated in the international law with respected to the maritime thing such as Greece. This matter is a high priority and therefore the Greek presidency is determined or or the presidency of the in security council through which that we can launch new initiative along with security in the seas and freedom of the passage as it is imperative for progress and development for all nations. Ladies and gentlemen, we should be committed to the international law along with the seas laws and alo we already contributed in the demarcation of the maritime areas and to respect the rights as proved that the Greek Egypt agreement with respect to the economic zone three years ago. the political will and the commitment of the international legitimacy that would lead to bolster stability in the region in the same time. [clears throat] This was and will lost our methology in legacy that agree never threat anyone based on the international law. would rather the st um stability doesn't mean reconstellation. And therefore Greece is confidently uh do not doesn't fear of dialogue as it is a mutual policy and we've also discussed to uh transform our discussions into tangible agreement such as an energy project investment joint investment project for our um three countries to move forward along with organize trade missions and also we reaffirmed to the um support of the electrical project that would transfer the renewable energy from Egypt to Europe that make the Middle East bridge of energy from the north of Africa and Europe. It is most importantly to continue cooperation in the natural gas benefiting the Egyptian infrastructures and its potentials in the fields of energy that Cyprus is enjoying. The Greek infrastructure of the natural gas that lead and the the main passage that leads to the eastern uh uh Central Europe which is an idle in the field of energy cooperation but we've already talked about this before but we are now at the kick off of launching the project to conclude I should have a pose of the European dimension to our cooperation Greece and Cyprus played an very pioneered role in elevating the uh relations ship between Egypt and European Union. We've already made this through which exerting all efforts to convince our European partners as the stability in Egypt is highly important for the European stability with for us. it a strong uh relations would assist in decimating or spreading the stability and peace in the region. As for us, our meeting affirm the uh prosperity and we thank uh Mr. president very much for the good hospitality and the solid friendship between uh three of us. Mr. Nikas will meet in a very organized meeting for preparing for the upcoming summit and that will be for the benefits and peace and security in the region.
