Беседа с Премьер-министром Малайзии Анваром Ибрагимом
Dear Mr. Prime Minister, dear friends, I am very glad to see you, Mr. Prime Minister. We haven't seen each other for a long time either. At the outset of our meeting, I would like to ask you to convey my warmest wishes to the Supreme Ruler of Malaysia, Sultan Ibrahim. We met in Moscow in May at a gala event to mark the eighty-first anniversary of the Victory over Nazism. We highly value the high level and genuinely friendly nature of relations between Russia and Malaysia. Today we meet at the BRICS forum, where the counter-revolution to a new, just, and democratic order is being shaped. We welcome Malaysia's accession to the association as a partner state, [clears throat] which took place during our presidency in 2024. Next year will mark 60 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. We approach this date with good, positive experience and significant groundwork for further expansion. High dynamics of contacts are maintained through the Security Council, parliaments, foreign policy and other departments. Most recently, in August, the fifth meeting of the joint Russian-Malaysian commission on economic, scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation was held in Vladivostok. According to the results of last year, trade turnover between our old countries grew by 12.9%. Good pace. We attach great importance to joint work in the fields of education, science, technology, and tourism. During today's conversation, we have the opportunity to discuss priority issues of our cooperation in all these areas. Once again, I am very glad to see you and have the opportunity to talk on the fields of Brix. Thank you, Mr. President. We really appreciate this opportunity. We appreciate that we can join this discussion. And despite the late hour, I thank you for organizing this meeting. Thank you. Sultan Ibrahim sends you his best wishes personally. And a big hello. He has a very high opinion of the Victory Day celebrations. He would like to come to Russia again. He has already been to Russia many times, but would like to come again. On some issues that are within our common interests, we are moving forward very quickly and productively. We look forward to the start of direct air service between Russia and Malaysia. We are also developing good cooperation in the energy sector. We cooperate with Rosatom. It is very important for Malaysia that the Russian President supports us in our endeavors and activities.
