Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi Presides Over Signing Ceremony for Contract to Develop and Operate Ajeel Oil Field ••••• Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi presided today, Saturday, over the signing ceremony for a contract to develop and operate the Ajeel Oil Field between the North Oil Company and KEPT. The signing of the contract comes as part of the Ministry of Oil’s efforts to maximize the utilization of hydrocarbon resources, increase oil and gas production, and optimize the use of oil and gas field resources, thereby strengthening energy security and supporting the country’s electricity generation system. The 25-year contract aims to gradually increase production at the field, raising gas production from approximately 135 million standard cubic feet per day to 300 million standard cubic feet per day, while increasing oil production from 30,000 barrels per day to 40,000 barrels per day. ••••• Media Office of the Prime Minister September 12, 2026
