Baghdad, Sept.12 (SANA)A high-level Iraqi security committee arrived in Maysan province Saturday to investigate an attack on an oil facility inSaudi Arabia, according to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

INA reported that the al-Shib and al-Shalamcheh border crossings with Iran have been closed to passenger and commercial traffic until further notice, with an exception for stranded travelers on both sides. Specialized security committees are also operating at al-Shalamcheh to investigate a number of security breaches and establish new procedures for managing the crossing.

The Zurbatiyah border crossing with Iran in Wasit province remains open to passengers and commercial traffic, while additional security and precautionary measures have been put in place to prevent potential violations.

Meanwhile, Iraqi President Nizar Amidi stronglycondemnedthe attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, affirming support for government measures to pursue those responsible and rejecting the use of Iraqi territory or airspace as a launching point for attacks against neighboring countries.

On Thursday, the East-West oil pipeline in the Riyadh and Madinah regions was targeted several times by drones coming from Iraq, according to the report. The attacks caused casualties and material damage, forcing the pipeline to halt operations and prompting continued Arab condemnation.
