Riyadh, Sept. 12 (SANA)-British Foreign SecretaryEd Milibandreaffirmed his country’s solidarity with the Kingdom ofSaudi Arabiain confronting attacks launched by the Houthi militia, stressing Riyadh’s right to take necessary measures to defend its security and resources in accordance with international law.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), this came during a phone call Miliband held Saturday with Saudi Foreign Minister PrinceFaisal bin Farhanbin Abdullah, in which the two sides discussed the latest regional developments.

The agency added that the two ministers also reviewed the importance of intensifying joint efforts to ensure the security and freedom of navigation in international waterways, thereby strengthening regional stability and safeguarding global trade and supply chains from the repercussions of the current crisis.

Saudi Arabia had earlier announced that its East–West oil pipeline was targeted by drones launched from Iraqi territory, causing material damage and prompting a temporary suspension of operations as a precautionary measure.
