Kyiv, Sept. 12 (SANA)Ukrainian PresidentVolodymyr Zelenskyhas said he is ready to attend the G20 summit in Miami and meetRussian President Vladimir Putinif the United States invites the Russian leader.

“We have to go. We have to meet, talk and make a decision,” Zelensky said in an interview with Deutsche Welle on Friday, according to Ukrinform.

Zelensky said the outcome of any meeting would matter more than the statements made by either side.

He described the recent visit to Kyiv by US presidential envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner as a “good sign” and a demonstration of respect for the Ukrainian people.

The Ukrainian president said his country was in a stronger battlefield position than it had been a year earlier, claiming that Russia was losing more than 30,000 troops each month despite making only slow advances.

“That is precisely why we believe we are in a strong position for negotiations,” he said.

Zelensky added that discussions with the US envoys addressed ways to begin de-escalation, suggesting that halting attacks on energy and grain-related infrastructure could be an initial step toward broader negotiations.

The G20 leaders’ summit is scheduled to be held in Miami in December.
