Berlin, Sept. 12 (SANA)TheUnited Arab Emiratesand Germany stressed on Friday the importance of preserving Syria’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In a joint statement issued on the occasion of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit toGermanyand published by the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the two countries stressed the need for all parties to respect international law and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, and to refrain from taking any steps that could threaten regional security and stability.

The two countries reiterated their commitment to achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution through a negotiated process leading to the establishment of an independent, sovereign and viable Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders, in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions.

They stressed the importance of advancing the implementation of the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in theGaza Stripand its roadmap, in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2803 of 2025, calling on Israel to fulfill its commitments under the Sharm el-Sheikh Protocol and Hamas to halt all military operations.

The UAE and Germany firmly rejected any unilateral measures aimed at changing the status of the occupied Palestinian territories or the historic and legal status quo in Jerusalem, or bringing about territorial and demographic changes, including the forced displacement of Palestinian civilians.

The two sides strongly condemned Iranian attacks against the UAE and countries in the region, including attacks targeting civilian infrastructure, describing them as violations of states’ sovereignty, territorial integrity, international law and theUN Charter.

They affirmed their commitment to contributing to peace, security and stability in the Middle East and stressed the importance of strengthening diplomacy and dialogue.
