Al Shibani: Syria rejects violations, defends sovereignty before UN Security Council
Damascus, Sep.12 ( SANA)Foreign and Expatriates MinsterAsaad Hassan al-Shaibanisaid that With the attendance and support of more than 40 states from around the world,Syriaspoke clearly and responsibly beforeUN Security Council, rejecting the violation of its sovereignty and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s entry into its territory, reaffirming its commitment to the country’s unity, independent decision and territorial integrity.
“We highly value the international community’s swift response in support of the Syrian Arab Republic amid ongoingIsraeli violations, and welcome this consensus, which affirms that respect for the independence and territorial integrity of states is a firmly established principle of the international system,” al-Shaibani said in a post on X published on Saturday.
He added that Syria will continue its responsible approach, based on the rules of international law and UN Charter, and will continue defending its national rights through all legitimate political and diplomatic means.
“Syria’s security, stability and territorial integrity are a shared interest for Syrians and the international community alike. Therefore, we will continue working to consolidate stability and enhance respect for the rules of international law,” al-Shaibani concluded.
