Statement ••••• The Iraqi government condemns the attacks that targeted the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and affirms its rejection of any attack that affects the security and stability of the Kingdom, or harms the established fraternal relations between the two countries. The Iraqi government appreciates the Kingdom’s position and its response to the efforts made by Iraq to contain the situation, which reflects its keenness on Iraq’s security and stability, and on continuing the path of fraternal relations and cooperation in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples. In this context, the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, directed the opening of an urgent investigation into the circumstances of the attacks and the parties behind them, and taking legal measures against anyone proven involved, stressing that the state will not tolerate any activity that exposes Iraq or its relations with brotherly and friendly countries to danger. The Iraqi government affirms that it will continue to work with brothers and friends to prevent the recurrence of such attacks, and to consolidate respect for the law and the principles of good neighborliness, in a way that protects Iraq’s interests and enhances its positive role in its regional environment.
