Official Statement ••••• The Iraqi government condemns the attacks targeting the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and reaffirms its rejection of any aggression that threatens the Kingdom’s security and stability or undermines the longstanding brotherly relations between the two countries. The Iraqi government appreciates the Kingdom’s position and its response to Iraq’s efforts to contain the situation, reflecting its commitment to Iraq’s security and stability and to maintaining the course of brotherly relations and cooperation in a manner that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples. The Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi directed that an urgent investigation be launched into the circumstances surrounding the attacks and the parties behind them, and that legal action be taken against anyone proven to be involved. He affirmed that the state will not tolerate any activity that endangers Iraq or its relations with brotherly and friendly countries. The Iraqi government affirms that it will continue working with brotherly and friendly countries to prevent the recurrence of such attacks, uphold respect for the law and the principles of good neighborliness, protect Iraq’s interests, and strengthen its positive role in the region. Iraq reiterates that its territory and airspace will not be used as a launching point for attacks against any country.
