Official Statement ••••• Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi will begin an official visit to the French Republic on Sunday, September 13, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron. The visit comes as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Iraq and France and explore ways to expand partnerships across various fields and sectors, foremost among them energy and security. On Monday, September 14, Prime Minister Al-Zaidi will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron. The two leaders will discuss several regional and international issues and issues of mutual interest. The two sides will chair expanded talks between the Iraqi and French delegations, aimed at laying the foundations for establishing new partnerships between Baghdad and Paris and discussing the general frameworks for bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, security, energy, education, and others, in a manner that contributes to addressing various regional and international challenges.
